GoldenRides® Service Scope & Limitations

GoldenRides® Service Scope & Limitations

Effective Date: July 13, 2026

Our Mission

GoldenRides® is a private-pay, prearranged transportation and companion support service dedicated to helping older adults remain active, independent, connected, and supported.

Our goal is to provide dependable, compassionate assistance that enables older adults to continue participating in medical care, personal activities, family events, social engagements, errands, and other important aspects of daily life.

Every client is treated with dignity, patience, respect, and individualized attention.

Services We Provide

Depending upon each client's individual needs, GoldenRides® may provide services that include:

  • Transportation to and from medical appointments
  • Transportation to hospitals, physician offices, rehabilitation facilities, outpatient procedures, and healthcare providers
  • Transportation for social outings, family visits, shopping, dining, religious services, cultural events, and recreational activities
  • Door-through-door assistance when appropriate
  • Walking companionship between the vehicle and destination
  • Assistance carrying light personal belongings or shopping bags
  • Waiting during appointments or activities when scheduled
  • Pharmacy prescription pick-up (when authorized)
  • Grocery and personal errands
  • Wellness visits and companion transportation
  • Family communication regarding arrival and departure times when authorized by the client

Services are provided only by prior arrangement and are subject to scheduling availability.

What GoldenRides® Does Not Provide

To ensure the safety of our clients and personnel, GoldenRides does not provide:

  • Emergency transportation
  • Ambulance services
  • Medical transportation requiring specialized medical equipment
  • Wheelchair-accessible transportation (unless specifically offered in the future)
  • Stretcher transportation
  • Medical treatment or healthcare services
  • Nursing services
  • Medical advice or medical opinions
  • Administration of medications or injections
  • Physical therapy or rehabilitation services
  • Personal care services such as bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, or lifting clients
  • Transportation for individuals whose medical condition requires continuous medical supervision during transport

If a client experiences a medical emergency, GoldenRides® personnel will immediately contact emergency services by calling 911.

Client Independence

GoldenRides® is designed for clients who are able to safely travel in a standard passenger vehicle with appropriate assistance.

Clients should be able to enter and exit the vehicle safely, either independently or with minimal assistance appropriate to the services provided.

If a client's needs exceed the scope of services offered by GoldenRides®, we may recommend that the client or family consider a transportation provider better equipped to meet those specific needs.

Companion Support

GoldenRides® is committed to providing more than transportation alone.

Our personnel may accompany clients into medical offices, waiting rooms, restaurants, stores, or other destinations when requested as part of the scheduled service.

Companion support is intended to provide reassurance, convenience, and practical assistance—not medical supervision or personal care.

Private-Pay Services

GoldenRides® is a private-pay service.

We do not currently participate in Medicare, Medicaid, or medical insurance reimbursement programs.

Clients are responsible for payment in accordance with the terms of their service agreement.

Service Area

GoldenRides® provides services within its designated operating area (currently Westchester County in NY and Fairfield County in CT).

Services outside our normal service area may be available by advance arrangement, subject to scheduling and applicable fees.

Our Commitment

GoldenRides® was founded on the belief that growing older should never mean giving up independence or becoming disconnected from healthcare, family, friends, or the community.

Our role is to provide dependable transportation and compassionate companion support that helps older adults continue living active, engaged, and meaningful lives.

We strive to treat every client as we would hope our own family members would be treated—with professionalism, kindness, patience, and genuine respect.
